So, my sister Whitney is the Divine Comedy President down at BYU (LDS college down in Provo, Utah.) She's also a student there, graduating this spring. Her comedy group comes up with all their material, writes funny parodies, records videos, etc. basically poking fun at themselves (BYU, LDS culture). Well, it seems their latest video "Provo, Utah Girls" is getting some hype. It's been HERE, HERE, HERE, oh... and HERE. Yes, some people are upset about it, but you know it only upsets them because maybe it hits a little too close to home. ;) If you can't laugh at yourself, you must live a pretty sad life. Whit's best friend, Mal, wrote the sketch and they all sang the song. Super talented women. Love ya, girls. (click on the video to go straight to Youtube and you will get the full screen)
Here are some more videos Divine Comedy (DC) has written over the past few years:

lol!! Hilarious! And Mallory did an awesome job!
Too funny! Pooh Pooh on CJane!
CJanes a joke! When I read her little speil on it sealed the deal on my dislike of her:)
These are all hilarious and are meant to poke fun at the stereotype that has been cast on BYU/Mormon girls. It's a good thing to take yourself so seriously, but apparently some people can't do that. Whatever, it's awesome (and this is coming from a BYU-I girl who got married at 18!)
Kara's critique:
Your sister is good at making up alternative lyrics to songs that get in her head that have a less-than-desirable message. I remember doing that with phantom of the opera lyrics...the music is so catchy, something has to takes it's place or you are stuck...
Clueless is the word I didn't like at first, but then I had to laugh because the first to parodies you put up that your sister did with Divine Comedy, I thought they were original works. After getting a clue, I looked up the latest one to see the original, since I had never heard it before either....yikes, if things are frantic at BYU about getting married, that is nothing like the franticness of the rest of the world to do something else. I felt just like that, about taking out the pimp.
I think I would have edited the white white white part with English, Norwegian, German, or some other country since I like feeling ethnic sometimes too and writing "white" on all my forms just doesn't cut it.
Other than that, they did a great job. I'm glad they did it.
Filming, dancing, singing, smiling :)
It is true that Provo is a great place to find a husband ;)
Whoops, I meant it's a good thing to NOT take yourself so seriously. That makes more sense.
Fun, I love re-watching these videos. They get stuck in my mind and I find myself grinning :))
Good work girls, lots of people are watching it. There are always a few people that won't like it, they just don't have a great sense of humor if this bothers them. I lived in Provo, went to Provo High, and as a Provo girl I think it's hilarious!!!
Thanks, Jamie. (: I'm glad you're getting the message out that it's okay to laugh at yourself. Onto half a million views then? Sure, okay. (:
Love you, and I'll see you tonight!

LOL!! One of the members in FRANCE sent this to me. It was hilarious and we laughed the whole way through it. It's just funny cause it's true. Very true. I love what they do and love that they keep doing what they do.
