As I was working out at the gym this morning I noticed this man (probably in his late 30's/early 40's) keeping a pretty good pace on the treadmill. It looked like he was really pushing himself and working hard. I tried to get a good look at what he was watching on his tv screen. I figured it must have been something really hardcore. His earphones were plugged into the tv and I noticed he was watching one of Elder Nelson's conference talks. Here I am, cranking up Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" on my iPod, and this guy is watching this talk about temple work and the gathering of Israel as he's sweating bullets. It made me smile this morning. Don't get me wrong, I like conference and really enjoy the talks, but when I'm working out I have to watch/listen to something that gets my body moving and blood pumping. I guess conference talks really do it for this guy. (No offense to those who workout to conference talks.)
That is way funny, I'm definitely a music girl. I need a little bit of Britney or Fuel or even Metallica to get my going. Good for him, perhaps it will come with age. Anyway, I don't know how often you check your blog but I have an invite for you one mine, check it out and I hope you can make it!
That's funny! Yes, I have my whole list of dirty, nasty, pump me up songs for working out. I actually don't normally listen to some of them because Chad says they're "sinful", but it's what gets me going when I work out.
you make me laugh!! theres no way i could watch conference and excercise, maybe he had a lot of repenting to do for the 20 scoops of ice-cream he scoffed the night before!
I'm a strong-willed woman, wife, mom of three, U of U grad, runner, gymnastics fanatic, card maker, piano player, slightly OCD, singer, chocolate lover, social worker, cancer survivor, and friend. I started this blog to keep in touch with family and friends, and it slowly turned into my own personal therapeutic outlet. Nothing better than typing out your thoughts, trying to make sense of life.
