Before & After Weight Loss pics

I made it!!! I figured it was time to post my before & after pics. My original goal was to get down to 140, which I did in December. Then I thought I would try for 10 more lbs. and get to 130 but to be honest, I'm happy with where I'm at (134). I still weigh less than I did when Jake and I got married, and still weigh a couple lbs. less than I did in high school. My stomach has been stretched to the max not just once or twice, but THREE times, so I don't think I'll ever have a "normal" stomach again, but that's okay. Maybe Jake will give me a surprise tummy tuck someday. ;) I'm posting three sets of pics: 1) June 26th at 169.8 2) Halfway there at 151 and 3) nearly 8 months after I started at 134.

I've had a couple people ask me for weight loss tips and advice and it's hard to know where to start. I guess it all comes down to motivation and how badly you want this. It's easy to say "Yes, I want to lose weight." It's a lot harder to actually get up every day and exercise and watch what you eat. So, no excuses. Yes, there will be crappy workouts where you wished you had never got out of bed, but there will also be amazing workouts that will inspire you and help you realize your potential. One of my favorite realizations during this process was the day we went sledding with Jake's family on Christmas Eve. Most were huffing and puffing up the hill and I felt great. I could actually keep up with my kids... something I couldn't do a few months before. I ran a 10K just 2 1/2 months after I started working out (something I would have never dreamed of doing 2 months before!) I'm running a half marathon in 2 months, again, something I never thought I could ever do. I'm wearing size 6 jeans (and even a few of those pair are a little loose.) I'm confident. I feel beautiful. All this is worth the buckets of sweat and lack of treats. I know because I'm taking care of me, that makes me a much better individual, wife, and mom. It truly is worth it.

It really is great and your so right about reaching the right level of motiation. I have had many times where I have lost 25-30 pounds but usually after a few months the motivation wears off. Lately I have hit a point where nothing gets me down. NOt that I don't have a bad day, or a day I don't feel like working out, but my motivation has stayed sky high! Too bad I'm pregnant, although I'm not taking a break! I have still managed to lost nearly 10 pounds since getting prego and my motivation to keep my weight gain low is still high. It's amazing the difference when my attitude is so different. I also love that i have people like you to look too and remember how great it feels to be small again! Congratulations! I actually was going to tell you I'm 15 weeks, due Aug 4th and super praying it's a girl! I find out in 2 1/2 weeks when my sister is here visiting. It would really be fun to get together sometime. I'll be ther ein April, maybe we could get allison to go with us to Gardner village or something. Talk to you later!
love
Camille

You look anorexic! I wish I could do what you did. I just don't know where to pull the strength from. I have the desire but it's not enough to muster motivation. I have no self control when it comes to food and don't get me started on working out. Congratulations! You deserve it!

JAMIE! You look soooo good! I am currently in the process of trying to loose a little/maintain weight as I was starting to climb the weight ladder. Thanks so much for sharing your story. I agree with all that you said!

WOW! The whole process has been amazing to watch and the before and after pictures are just crazy! I can't believe how someone can change so much in just 9 months. Not just weight wise but also in your endurance and how much better you feel about yourself as well. It's awesome that you have been willing to share your story and pictures with everyone to help inspire and motivate other people as well.

You look amazing! Beautiful. Way to be a great example of losing weight for the right reasons and in the right way. In this day and age there are so many false and unhealthy (but tempting) ways to do it. You are so admirable! You can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. But I will say I am crying because I am so proud of you. You have always been such a great example to everyone around you and here you go again!

HOLY MOLY!! I've been waiting months for these pictures!! WOW! You don't even look like the same person as the first pictures. Your face even looks different. My sister was looking at them with me and we both agree that you look 7 years younger. Congratulations again, and you've been a great motivation for many people.

Wow Jamie! What have you been doing?

By the way sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but we are good and we like it in Cali. You really can't beat the weather :)
We hope to go back to Utah someday though.

Way to go! Your transformation is just amazing. Good for you for sticking to it. Staying positive. And working hard. I am a big believer that weight loss is a lot more mental than it is physical. If you can't get your brain in gear than your body won't follow. Good Job and keep up the work. Now it is all about a life style change.
