Happy Birthday, Emma!

Today is Emma's 3rd birthday!! It's hard to believe our little girl is three years old. I remember her birth like it was yesterday. It was a scheduled c-section and the night before I was so excited and couldn't go to sleep. My mom was there and couldn't go to sleep either, so we stayed up and talked and she painted my toenails. On March 1st she was born at 11:53 AM, weighing 8 lbs. and was 20 1/2 inches long. She was such a sweet baby and adored her brother... still does. Take a look at a video clip from her birth (this was the first time I saw her.) I love you, Emma. Thanks for being my sweet and sassy little girl.

Her princess party went great. She had 6 friends over and they all had a good time, at least I hope they did. :) We played a version of musical chairs, except I used laminated pictures of the princesses and whoever landed on Cinderella when the music ended (Bibbity Bobbity Boo) was out and they got a prize. Then they had to go search for Snow White's poison apple. I hid 5 fake apples and one of them had a green bow tied to it (the poisoned one.) The kid who found it got a prize. Then I told the kids that princesses LOVE to dance so I cranked up "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" (a recording of all the stars from the Disney Channel sing it) and the kids rocked out. It was fun watching them go crazy. And let's just say, Ben has some moves I had never seen before until today! :) The highlight of the party, though, was a visit from Snow White. The kids loved her and were enchanted by her. She sang songs, read them her story, played pin the crown on Cinderella, put lipstick and eye shadow on them, and then took a polaroid pic with each girl and gave it to them to take home. It was great!! Thanks to all of Emma's friends who came (Stella, Emerson, Katelyn, Jami, Sylvia, and Eliza) and a huge thanks to Snow White (Kendalyn, you're awesome!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Emma!

Ah! Emma must've had so much fun! I wish I could've been there, her Cinderella dress is amazing! I'd say the party was a definite success. Good job, Jamie.

Wow, what a party! I think Emma will remember this one. It looked like a lot of fun, even for Ben and Emerson. Did you video the kids dancing?

That was a cute idea! I can't believe you even had Snow White.

And, look how great you look after that birth. You put the rest of us to shame :)

Verenice, you're too nice. It's not hard to look good when you have a planned c-section, no labor, and can do your make-up and hair beforehand. :)

Mom, we did get video of the kids dancing. I'll have to see if I can download it.

How Fun! I miss you guys. Thanks for sharing a special memory. The princess party looks like it was a success--Kendalyn is awesome. Makes me want one too! I'll be 32 this year though, is that ok? haha!

That was the coolest birthday party ever. I can't let Jayden see it or she'll go crazy! I will be stealing all your ideas for Jayden's next birthday. So cute! I thought about Emma all day today. We went to Portland to DEQ mom and dad's car, so we were gone until late and didn't get to call. Jayden stayed with Chad's parents and went to another kids birthday party out here and when I told she was going to get to go she said, "TO EMMA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY???" I didn't even tell her it was Emma's birthday. I had to let her down gently and tell her that Emma was too far away. But let Emma know that Jayden remembered and misses her. Happy birthday to Emma!!!

I am very impressed with the birthday party. Someday I will get motivated enough to have a real party for Brennan. Maybe next year! What a fun idea with the princess, though! I'll bet she loved it.

I can't believe how beautiful you look after just giving birth! I had a shiny zitty face, black eye makeup running down my cheek (way more than usual), and one crazy pig tail on the side of my head... for reals.
