I remember visiting downtown Salt Lake when Jake and I got engaged (December 2000.) We went to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert with his family and walked around Temple Square afterward, looking at the lights and seeing the Nativity Scene by the Visitors' Center. I was in awe by Temple Square's beauty and the spirit I felt there. Now, living in Salt Lake almost 6 years, I've been to Temple Square quite a few times and although I'm still mesmerized by it's beauty, I feel I take it for granted. We really are so lucky to live only 10 minutes from Temple Square and I hope our children understand what a blessing it is to be able to visit whenever we want. We decided to take them downtown last week and the kids loved it. When we were walking around the Salt Lake temple grounds Emma looked up at the Angel Moroni statue and said "I see Jesus holding a telescope!" Jake and I were laughing pretty hard at that one. We went to the Visitors' Center and looked at all the paintings and then saw the huge statue of Christ. We had a great time and can't wait to go back again.

We took Emily down to Temple Square last fall and she loved it. She had a blast running around outside and seeing the temple and Jesus. It's fun to be able to see all your lessons sinking in, isn't it? We recently went to DC and Emily called all the statues she saw "Jesus" and when we were in St Louis she called the arch a temple. Kids can definitly give you a good laugh.
What a good mom you are! I've thought the same thing about living so close to temple square. You're kids are so cute!
Brennan thought Moroni had a gun...I think a telescope sounds a little better!
We really need to go. Your kids are so cute-fun to see them loving the gospel.
Hey Jamie...Your blog is so cute. I found it just looking on Traci's page. hope that is ok. I love looking at other people's pages cause it makes me want to make mine just as cute cause its kind of boring now. Your kids are so cute and they are getting so big. I will add you to our blog if thats ok...talk to you later valerie cooper(now vanderlinden)
Hey Jamie,
you're kids are darling! How fun to live in Utah huh? Ryan and I just love it here. All though we terribly miss downtown Portland, Cannon Beach, and the gorge, we don't miss the rain, the liberals, and the TRAFFIC!! I'm glad you're doing so well. That is too funny about our little girls named Emma. What's your little Emma's middle name? Our is Lee, after my middle name. KIT!
