This morning I was running at the gym, cranking my iPod and realized I'm getting sick of my playlist. I haven't added anything new since last summer (besides a couple Me First And The Gimme Gimmes songs from Jake's iPod.) I need some new tunes to get my blood pumping. So, let's hear em'! What are your favorite workout songs? I'm up for anything.

here's a short list:
- Rain by Bishop Allen
- Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon
- Long Road to Ruin by Foo Fighters
- Black Holes and Revelations (whole album) by Muse
Do you want your blood to be pumping because you are excited/happy, because you are pissed, or because you are in a loving mood?
I'm looking for the "excited/happy" kind of blood pumping music. Any recommendations, Shawn?
Zach, I really like Long Road to Ruin. I need to check the others out on Youtube. Thanks for the list.
Any more? Bring them on!

I'm in the same boat. I tend to like the pop ones that are more up beat. If I don't know the song or the artist, then it's hard for me to get into it. I've searched on iTunes for workout music, and there are some songs on the Biggest Loser workout playlist that are good as well as some other workout palylists that popped up. I'm still struggling with finding enough of them, though, and then not getting sick of the ones that I do find. I've played "Single Ladies" so many times it's making me go crazy
Thought of a couple others:
Re-Arranger by Mates Of State
Remnants by My Morning Jacket
How about an eclectic mix? American Boy by Estelle (w/Kanye West), lots of stuff by the White Stripes (Hotel Yorba, Seven Nation Army, Blue Orchid, Doorbell, The Denial Twist, etc.), Feist (I Feel it All, Mushaboom), The Darkness (I Believe in a Thing Called Love). All upbeat and motivational.
What a good question- I am copying some of these down! I love Natasha Beddingfield- Stumble. And Metallica- Unforgiven II.
Um, I have a pimp playlist for working out. It worked awesomely when I was actually working out. Unfortunately, you would hate it. It consists of beautiful tracks from Pantera, Metallica, Rob Zombie and Nellie. Of course it also has the last speech from "Any Given Sunday." If you like I will give you the whole playlist. I can even burn you a CD and hook you up. Be warned, in addition to pumping you up to working out, it may also make you want to hurt people. - Jarred
PS good job on the weight loss.
It makes me feel old/not in any sort of music loop to give my list. ( I have become an NPR/Children's music nerd. I know I need help.) But I like
-- I'm going to make you sweat
-- Livin' La Vida Loca
-- I'm a Believer
Some of my favorites...
Walkin' on the Sun by Smashmouth
Some Days you Gotta Dance by Dixie Chicks
Eye of the Tiger (can't remember who does it)
Stayin' Alive
I will Survive
Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants
One Week by Barenaked Ladies
My playlist is on the short side, too, so I'm appreciating the suggestions from everyone else. Are you ready for your run?

I really like to listen to punk while I'm working out. My favorite is Face to Face. They are clean so no worries. Another of my favorites is Larkins Garden. They are local from West Valley. I don't know if you could find them on itunes or not. Less than Jake is good. Some of their songs have cussing, but some are really good and clean.
I don't think I would go with Jarred Henlines suggestion if I were you ;P
Good luck. I'm gonna be spending some time today adding more songs to my ipod.

Sorry, I don't know why that posted 4 times! I only clicked once.
I know it sounds stupid but I always listen to Jock Jams and it gets me pumped. But when/if I start working out again I'm sure I will add to that playlist...
